Transformer l\u2019\u00e9nergie du Soleil en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 <\/strong>depuis la surface de la Terre est possible, mais n\u00e9cessite une infrastructure importante, pas toujours simple en temps de guerre. L\u2019US Air Force<\/strong> travaille sur un autre moyen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019US Air Force veut des panneaux solaires dans l\u2019Espace pour alimenter son arm\u00e9e o\u00f9 qu\u2019elle soit dans le monde. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le concept un peu d\u00e9routant<\/strong> est  d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par le laboratoire de recherche de l\u2019US Air Force<\/strong> qui, \u00e0 la pointe de l’innovation, vient d’abandonner les disquettes. Ses chercheurs veulent r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande en \u00e9nergie des troupes am\u00e9ricaines au sol, quelle que soit leur position. Pour cela elle envisage un panneau solaire plac\u00e9 en orbite<\/strong> capable de transformer l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire en radiofr\u00e9quences <\/strong>qu\u2019il sera ensuite possible d\u2019envoyer vers un point pr\u00e9cis du globe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Colonel Eric Felt<\/strong>, en charge du directoire des v\u00e9hicules spatiaux explique : \u00ab\u2009L\u2019\u00e9nergie est un moyen strat\u00e9gique et une vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 potentielle pour notre nation et notre D\u00e9partement de la D\u00e9fense. Pour assurer le succ\u00e8s des missions, nous devons avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie quand et o\u00f9 nous en avons besoin\u2009\u00bb. Ne plus \u00eatre d\u00e9pendant des sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie terrestres serait un \u00e9norme avantage logistique et tactique<\/strong> en tant de guerres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le projet d\u00e9nomm\u00e9 \u00ab\u2009Space Solar Power Incremental Demonstrations and Research<\/strong>\u2009\u00bb n\u2019est pour l\u2019instant qu\u2019une id\u00e9e sur le papier. Toutefois, les chercheurs de l\u2019US Air Force travaillent \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer sa faisabilit\u00e9<\/strong>. L\u2019entreprise priv\u00e9e Northrop Grumman<\/strong> vient de se voir offrir un contrat de 100 millions de dollars<\/strong> pour fournir le mat\u00e9riel permettant les premi\u00e8res exp\u00e9rimentations. La Chine travaille aussi \u00e0 une ferme solaire spatiale, mais utilisant le laser ou les micro-ondes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
