Ce probl\u00e8me est loin d\u2019\u00eatre nouveau. Les scientifiques en parlent depuis des ann\u00e9es. Tout comme \u00e0 la surface de la Terre, la gestion des d\u00e9chets spatiaux gravitant autour de notre plan\u00e8te pose un probl\u00e8me<\/strong>. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs pour cette raison que des \u00e9quipes de chercheurs \u00e0 travers le monde travaillent sur un moyen de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer ces d\u00e9chets. Pour vous citer quelques exemples, nous vous pr\u00e9sentions le Space Debris Collector en 2011 et un vaisseau recyclant les d\u00e9bris spatiaux \u00e9tait en cours de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e0 P\u00e9kin en 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les d\u00e9bris spatiaux s\u2019amoncellent plus qu\u2019ils ne se d\u00e9truisent<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le PDG du constructeur a\u00e9rospatial Rocket Lab qui travaille sur la fus\u00e9e Electron, Peter Beck, a confi\u00e9 \u00e0 CNN <\/a>que les d\u00e9bris spatiaux commencent \u00e0 s\u00e9rieusement affecter les futures missions spatiales. En effet, les agences spatiales et les entreprises priv\u00e9es doivent maintenant planifier et pr\u00e9parer leurs lancements en fonction des d\u00e9bris gravitant en orbite<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le type et la taille des d\u00e9chets varient grandement, mais ce sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des satellites br\u00fbl\u00e9s, d\u2019anciens \u00e9l\u00e9ments de fus\u00e9e<\/strong>, etc. Les d\u00e9bris des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes missions spatiales encombrent maintenant l\u2019orbite terrestre et g\u00eanent les nouvelles missions spatiales \u00e0 venir. Bien entendu, tous les d\u00e9bris spatiaux situ\u00e9s autour de la Terre finissent par retomber et sont br\u00fbl\u00e9s dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re. Cependant, ce n\u2019est pas assez rapide par rapport \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quence avec laquelle nous envoyons de nouveaux satellites <\/strong>et faisons d\u00e9coller de nouvelles fus\u00e9es. Par exemple, Starlink est capable de fabriquer 120 satellites par mois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, la Station spatiale internationale <\/strong>est elle aussi affect\u00e9e par le nombre croissant de d\u00e9bris spatiaux. En 2016, un bouclier anti-d\u00e9bris avait m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9. R\u00e9cemment, l\u2019ISS a d\u00fb \u00e9viter une collision avec l\u2019un de ces d\u00e9bris<\/strong> qui aurait pu compromettre la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des astronautes \u00e0 son bord. Heureusement, l’ESA a pr\u00e9vu la mission CleanSpace-1 en 2025 pour commencer \u00e0 r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer les d\u00e9bris en orbite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
